Dr. Hong was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. She graduated from veterinary school in 2009 and began practicing small animal medicine before moving to the US in 2018 with her husband who is also a veterinarian, her daughter, and the family’s Maltese named Soonduk.
After completing her clinical rotation at Louisiana State University, Dr. Hong relocated to Houston in 2020 where she spent time serving in general practice, preventive medicine, high volume spay and neuter clinics, and emergency services.
When she’s not caring for the dental health of pets in our community, Dr. Hong enjoys crocheting, watching Korean movies, traveling (she’s visited over 25 countries!), and running marathons.

For many dogs and cats, including puppies & kittens, anesthesia is not required to have their teeth & gums cleaned. Instead we can use calming techniques to help pets feel relaxed during their dental cleaning.
Here’s what to expect from your pet’s anesthesia-free teeth cleaning appointment:

We’ll ask you to complete a medical history form before the appointment. This will help us evaluate if your pet is a good candidate for a non-anesthetic pet dental cleaning.

Your pet’s appointment will start with a dental exam. If there are no behavioral or health concerns found during the exam,
we’ll proceed with a thorough cleaning of your pet’s teeth, followed by a polish & rinse for minty
fresh breath!

After your pet’s dental cleaning visit, you’ll receive an email with our findings during the exam as well as before and after pictures of your pet’s teeth.
